HSCG or IBN Membership
The HSCG or IBN will send you an email with information about your membership after purchasing your ACT policy. The guild membership you have depends on the primary business class you select while getting a quote.
If you have questions about the HSCG and IBN memberships, reach out to a member of their team using the links below.
Follow these simple steps to access and use your membership benefits:
Two parts, one policy, all tailored to fit your craft and backed by industry professionals who know what it takes to run, grow, and protect your business.
ACT makes getting handmade business insurance simple and affordable while connecting you to a maker community through your included guild membership.
No. ACT handmade beauty coverage includes the guild membership, which cannot be removed from the policy. You must join the HSCG or IBN in order to be eligible for coverage.
Attaching your membership to your ACT policy allows us to offer group coverage, which helps lower your premium, so insurance costs less.
If you cancel your ACT insurance policy, you will keep access to your guild membership benefits for the full membership term. Your insurance premium can be refunded on a pro-rated basis, but the membership fee is non-refundable.
If you make soap and candles, your guild membership depends on which product you selected as your primary business class when getting a quote. For example, if you selected “soap,” you will have an HSCG membership, and if you selected “candles,” you will have an IBN membership.
The good news is that both guilds offer benefits for soap and candle makers, so you can support all aspects of your business, no matter which membership you have.
After purchasing your ACT policy, we will send your contact information to the HSCG and IBN so they can activate your membership, which may take a few days. Once your membership is ready, the guild will email you with instructions to activate your account. Use the same email address you used to sign up for your ACT policy when logging in to the HSCG website or the IBN website.
If you are a member of the HSCG or IBN and purchased your ACT policy, please contact us immediately so we can help ensure you’re getting the correct coverage and the right price. Current HSCG and IBN members are eligible to purchase a handmade business insurance policy on top of their membership.
