While we strive to help as many people as possible get the insurance they need, we regret that there are some things we cannot insure. Below is a list of coverages EXCLUDED in the ACT Pro policy that ACT Insurance will not respond to:

Exclusions for the ACT Pro for Handmade Beauty Businesses Policy

  • Acetone used in any hair relaxer and/or hair straightener product, sales to a wholesaler or distributor, or acetone products that contain parabens or phthalates
  • Any and all hair relaxer and/or hair straightener products
  • Any product containing the following chemicals or ingredients: cyclosiloxanes, parabens, diethanolamine, dimethyl sulfoxide, guanidine carbonate, ammonium thioglycolate, toluene, dibutyl phthalates, phthalates, phthalate esters, dibutyl phthalate or toluene
  • Candles containing liquid fuel gel
  • Cosmetic products containing talc – eyeshadow, foundation, toners
  • Dietary Supplements – meaning products taken by mouth that contain a “dietary ingredient” intended to supplement the diet:
    • Including, but not limited to, those promoted to increase energy, sexual performance, aid in weight loss or gain, reduce body fat percentage or change body composition;
    • “dietary ingredient” may be one, or any combination of the following substances–a vitamin, a mineral; an herb or other botanical, an amino acid, or a concentrate, metabolite, constituent, or extract
  • Ethical pharmaceuticals – meaning any drug, vaccine, or medicine, that cannot be distributed to the general public by any means other than through the prescription of or usage by a licensed physician or medical doctor duly accredited by a recognized medical professional association, such as the American Medical Association, including, but not limited to:
    • Any drug, vaccine, or medicine defined above that was ever banned from use by United States regulations; and any illegal drug, vaccine, or medicine
  • Formaldehyde, formaldehyde products, or formaldehyde – containing materials or products
  • Furniture
  • Hand Sanitizer not in compliance with the United States Food & Drug Administration requirements for over-the-counter topical antiseptic or antimicrobial products effective on or after the date of manufacture
  • Household Cleaning Products that are not 100% organic or natural
  • Hygienic products containing talc – baby powder, body powder, shower to shower and similar powder products – are not eligible
  • Ingestible Vitamins or Supplements
  • Invasive body inks, dyes, or permanent cosmetics
  • Inversion Tables
  • Nail Curing Lights
  • Plug-In Electrical Products
  • Products, supplements, or additives that, at any time, are recalled, including, but not limited to a recall classified by the United States Food and Drug Administration to be a “Class I Health Hazard”, meaning a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Chapter 1, as amended;
  • Products, that are ingestible, containing cannabidiol (CBD) or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
  • Products, that are not ingestible, containing greater than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
  • Products containing alcohol, except for hand sanitizer described above
  • Products developed with or containing human stem cells or human stem cell media
  • Products or equipment implanted on or within the human body
  • Products that do not meet FDA “GRAS” Guidelines – Generally Regarded as Safe
  • Salon or Spa Operations
  • Suppositories
  • Talc
  • Tanning beds or equipment
  • Testing or demonstration of products done on employees
  • Toys, except when sold in conjunction with an eligible beauty product

  • Directing, Hosting, Organizing, planning, promoting, or sponsoring a fair, festival, show, or similar event

  • Martial Arts Events
  • Medical Professionals
  • Murals
  • Narcotic-Related Events

  • Political Rallies, Demonstrations, or Events
  • Pumpkin Patches
  • Sales or Distribution of Narcotics
  • Sporting Events
  • Tattoo conventions or shows
  • Three-Dimensional Installation Artwork

  • Weapon, Knife, and Ammunition Exposures
