Questions About Insurance? We Have Answers!

Why Do Decorative Artists Need Insurance?

Decorative artists need insurance to be accepted into events, fulfill online seller requirements, and get their products into retail stores. You’ll likely need to show proof of insurance and add third parties as additional insureds to your policy.

Does Decorative Artist Insurance Work for Other Art Forms?

Decorative artists’ insurance from ACT covers 200+ product types from various art forms, including (but not limited to):

  • Bespoke furniture
  • Cushions and pillows
  • Decorative accessories
  • Door hangings
  • Fabric and textile decor
  • Handmade decor
  • Kitchenware
  • Mirrors
  • Outdoor decor
  • Paintings
  • Pet accessories
  • Prints and signs
  • Rugs and tapestries
  • Seasonal decor
  • Vases
  • Wall art and hangings

Can This Policy Insure My Art Pieces?

No, ACT’s decorative art insurance cannot insure your art pieces or art collections. The policy doesn’t cover the artwork itself — it is a liability policy designed to protect against the risks your art and business face.

Crafters can protect their work with Tools, Supplies, & Inventory Coverage available exclusively through the ACT Pro policy. If a piece is damaged or stolen, your coverage may help reimburse the cost of the materials needed to recreate it, but not its retail value.

What’s Excluded With Decorative Artist Insurance?

  • Carpentry (structural pieces)

  • Children’s products

  • Construction

  • Installations

  • Murals
